I am looking into this as a SHTF comms tool. VX-8DR | HamCity / Ham Radio Equipment I live on some land in Alaska and it would be nice to have this in a tactical set-up while I check my perimeters. Does anyone know if there is a whip/tape style antenna available for this unit? I would like to have it captured in my MOLLE webbing, but should I spend a short amount of time away from my home, I could unravel and put it into a tree or something to increase range. Any thoughts? I am working on my licensing right now but am kind of jammed up on which unit I would like to get.
