So, you think you can prepare your little getaway for the coming doom and gloom days, right? After all, it is your land, so who is to say you can't damn the creek to make a pond, or divert water for irrigation? Why, the EPA, of course.
IF they own that land, what about the adjacent property that allows them to inspect their water?

It has been that way for many years, if the SHTF I think they will have bigger problems than enforcing those regulations.
Oops, it was the state that owned it for many years, EPA is a newer thing.

Our water comes from our own well in the yard.
A number of years ago the state of Florida announced it wanted to put meters on all private wells and charge the landowner for water useage.
It never came to pass, but the very thought that something like that would even be suggested is scary.

The State owns it. And they control 300 feet either side from the highest water level.
I know we have one.
It was 75 feet but when liberals took over the State the raised it to 300

The Federal government is completely out of control and the EPA is one of it's leading agencies that is power driven. The Federal government must be brought under control by common sense people. Common sense control means congress is out of the picture along with the court systems and the executive branch too as they don't even have bad sense. Time for the people to stand up and forcefully say no more!

I'm not sure "We the People" can even afford to wait til November, 2014, as even then it will take months if not years to try and undo what has already been screwed up, the petty bickering will go on for years with nothing changing.

We have several springs on our property and own the water rights to them. There are streams, rivers and lakes on the property that have shared water rights. If the water doesn't start and end on your property you can only own shared rights but if it does start and stop on your property then you can own all rights to the water. It still has to be listed in the property agreement though or it is a free water source.

I've not clicked on your link and don't know the terms and such that seem over the top, but I own land with numerous creeks and springs and I also know that if I halted the flow of water on two of them - people down stream would likely die of dehydration. I really don't see it being a problem that "govt" makes sure someone does not do that to someone else.

The California State Water Resources Board did an aerial survey of all ponds in our county about 5 years ago. Anyone who had water being diverted into the pond from a creek or stream had to block it off. They actually drove around to each ranch and inspected them. You are not allowed to store water for more than 30 days. The government is completely out of control and I fear it is so far reaching that we will never get back any of the great freedoms this country was founded upon.

I believe that the EPA also has control of all ponds and lakes on your property.
Sure do and even if you build one they then control it and you can never fill it back in.

Hey, if the EPA has control over the lakes and ponds on my property I wonder how they will get to them.... It's all private property and they need a warrant to get on the property. Are they going to search for trout? I know they want to search the lake for the guns that you lost on your last fishing trip......

Here is an eye opener for you.
Army Corp of eng. ,EPA and state DNR's can come on any land at any time without warrant .
They also use satellite imaging to a level you would never dream of now
