My problem with backup power is the batteries required. Cause will the sun be shining or wind blowing when you need it??
Thinking of going underground. If it stays 55 degrees underground all the time?? NO POWER needed. Freezer should stay cold for days at that temp without power when it goes out. Keeping filled whether with food or ice jugs. Think our forefathers had the right idea. If you have the room.
Sure having a small solar panel and couple batteries for small items. Recharging phone or emergency radio would be ideal.
