My conversation with a friend brought up an interesting topic of verbiage.
In the military, we were taught "rifle, pistol, weapon".
In the military "Gun" = pushups.
I used to get irritated when i heard people say "gun".
I've since outgrown it and use "gun" myself (rarely, and usually only in type), but some people (such as my friend) still cannot bring themselves to blaspheme.
It hasn't been said better than "this is my rifle, this is my gun, this is for fighting, this is for fun".
