"Prepping is simply for "BRIDGING" the first stage of survival. After that is "Instant" Death or a horrific prolonged period of Survival, which will ultimately culminate in failure to survive".

Preppers "ALL" have a plan to carry them too normal or NEW normal. That plan is that for sure the SHTF event will be over before they run out of water/food/butt-wipe/etc.

They truly think the "prepping" actually is the survival plan. It is NOT.

There's no such thing as a "survival plan". They're all temporary plans.
Have a plan for the inevitable end. ;)

I do. It was born about 67 years ago, in a church. I was nine when I chose to be Baptized.

I was thinking a nice dark quiet spot and a Linus blanket
You, simply, can NOT plan for a lengthy stay in survival mode. After a certain amount of time, it's going to come down to reacting to your surroundings.

Few have ever lived in extended survival mode. Most have never spent a week in survival mode. If people would practice, it would enhance their longevity.
Linus blanket
I actually had to google search what the hell that was.

This is where the ambiguity of words come into play "Most". What percentage is 'most'. What part of the world is this 'most' in ? Africa.... I think not. Parts of Australia, aboriginal tribes... No not them.

Military? well that is debatable. Anyone that has done both SERE training and wilderness survival courses to pass the certification exam for wilderness instructor/guide would tell you that SERE training was a walk in the park in comparison.

Even I had spent over a month solo in deep winter in snow in December in the Catskill Mountains in an off the grid cabin with no heat/electricity, practicing survival skills.

Glad I could stump you

Wasn't the 1st time someone has, and surely will not be the last...

Least it wasn't this

The true ugly reality for some folks will be that even if they think they're prepped to the gills and feel like some sort of "survivalist", they too will perish.
Even Ol' Remus bought the farm ...

Life is temporary anyway you slice it.
Enjoy it while you still can.

I figure if I practice survival skills now to meet our needs, the preps will extend a couple of extra years. If I bop couple of bunnies and can up some hasenpfeffer for later, is that prepping? Will eating them be considered survival? Will they be the last jars on the shelf, or will it once again be squash?? Can I continue prepping while surviving? I plan on it. Shit happens but the days and seasons keep rolling. I still have to get in the harvests and get them shelf stable.

Typical natural disaster events are resolved within 45 to 120 days. 1st world people begin to get nutty and dangerous around day 5. Knowing how to deal with scared hungry people is a survival skill. Even though I live neighborhood dubbed Preppers' Paradise, many of my neighbors' main prep is a credit card. When the power goes out for 8 hours, these people go out on the dangerous roads for a stay at an Indian Casino 70 miles away, either direction. The handful of us who stay through the storms and quakes are mostly antisocial malcontents who do best on their own.

I'm an Apocapollyanna, Prepare for the worst, hope for the best. I live in a way I won't much notice the world went to hell in a handbasket, until I look for them.
