Could there ever be a place like Barter-town? I envision something like an old high school football field with
Tables like a flee market. A few guys with rifles at the top of the bleachers ( just keep the peace) A tall fence
And only one way in without being noticed. And you cant get in unless you have brought something worthwhile to
trade. I know that's what the movie is about. ,,, But think about it. I think when the dust is settled down
and we start meeting new people and need things,, I'm just saying

No armed guards, but there are bands of "gypsies" or "Pykies" that travel throughout Europe setting up giant flea markets for a few days at a time in various towns then disappearing overnight. For some reason crime jumps dramaticly when their in town... :D They sell everything you could imagine, and a thousand things you've never thought of. I once bought a pair of rabbit skin gloves the lady hand stitched and custom fit to me in a matter of minutes while we stood there in amazement. Cost? $8!!! She had cages of live rabbits jumping around behind her booth. Best gloves I've ever owned! :D

The markets I saw weren't bad. They setup in fields as close to town as possible, and left the places spotless as far as I could tell when they disappeared.

They had a few groups of "heavies" walking around the whole place. It was a friendly place overall, but it didn't take more than a few minutes to realize everything and everybody was being watched over. Or to get the impression of exactly what was going to happen if someone were stupid enough to not pay for something or cheese off any of the vendors. :D Most all of the stuff was home made goods. Be it ponchos, food, jewelry, sheet metal pots and pans, trinkets, whatever.
