Thrift store buys

I went to the local thrift store today and found a couple useful items. I got a coleman lantern for $4 (works great, the batteries were still in it and worked ;) ), a 3 gallon water jug for $2, and a book on knots for $1. Just thought I'd share, I was quite excited!

Its actually the first and only one I have been in as well! I usually only hit the same but tried this one once and since than have got 4 brand new pairs of BDU's about 7 pairs of Levis some with tags still on them! I was excited to get a pair of 501's with tags from the store for only $12 bucks. I also got 3 close to new rubbermade totes they took a lot of gear and 2 5 gallon water jugs for like $17 bucks!

Damn that is a great deal! I am going to have to go more often and check out different ones, it sounds like there are a lot of opportunities for prep buys
MY girlfriend and i go to the thrift store almost every saturday on our way to the walmart to buy food.we always use the excuse we are gonna buy the doggies some new stuffed animals to play with. ours is a pta store that gives the moneys to a local school. every saturday the clothes are 1/2 price. and normally the mens pants are marked either a dollar or 50 cents. keep in mind i'm a military contractor so we are right outside a military installation. i have gotten so many cargo pants from this place for 50 cents i should be good for the rest of my life lol. best find ever was a black pair of 511 tactical cargo pants i got for a quarter. those pants are 50 dollars a pair cheapest ive ever seen :) but like you guys say almost every trip we get something that relate to prepping, whether it be containers for storage etc. once we found a complete cast iron cookware set.ha dliek 3 fry pans dutch oven 4 little mini dutch ovens with lids paid 20 dollars i think. any one of those you can throw right on a direct fire and cook away :). but they always have old military gear boots 1 dollar cold weather gear. everything.

Damn good deals out there. Around here, the thrift stores charge near new prices on everything. Even old CRT tv's are $100. I don't go to them expecting good deals on anything except books are cheap. Even books from the library are cheaper though.
