I been researching a lot on prepping but never really got to deep into it until I met this wonderful woman of mine that is interested into as well. Some things I want to learn about is bug out bags, bug out bags for vehicles, gardening, canning, and food storage. We are planning on bugging in when the SHTF but we are prepparing as well to bug out if need be. Hope to make some friends and learn some things everyone else does. We hope to get some good info from everyone.

Glad to have you aboard.

We seem to be going through a goofy week, but there is a library's worth of information stored in the threads, here. Look in the specific categories and dig around. You'll find a lot of gems buried in the layers of...mud, we like to sling around here.

There are different bags for different uses as well as adjusting them for the season.

First is what I call a get home bag. Its small & kept in the vehicle. Something to get you home if your vehicle fails.

There is a big difference between a BOB just to toss in a vehicle to bug out & one to be tossed on your back.

Welcome from Texas. Depending on what region of the state you are in you will have different considerations. It's always best to have a partnerfor mutual support, so what ever your area is you are already ahead of the game.

Welcome from VA, having a second person to prep with and live with after SHTF will make things so much better!
