Is the Constitution a living document what is meant to change with the times or did our Founding Fathers write it to put limitations on the government to ensure we would always be free people by limiting the powers of the government and write laws for the government to be restrained NOT us? As for my self, I say "LIVE FREE OR DIE" I believe in personal liberty, free markets, free speech, sound money, right to due process of law, right to bear arms, limited government and personal responsibility. What are your thoughts on this? Also for those of you who share these beliefs join the "SONS OF LIBERTY" group right here on this forum, join at the link on my profile or look under community, groups

yes I totally agree, you are right some Amendments are not Constitutional like the 18th what was a violation of the 10th amendment. I think the bill of right should not be allowed to be altered or restricted in any way. “Whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute new government...” Thomas Jefferson. we were not meant to have restriction on firearms back them we had the same weapory as the Goverment and everyone owned a gun. Back then the Government was alot smaller as we paid for it with real money on the gold standard - U.S. constitution Article 1, Section 10: "No State shall make any thing but gold and silver coin a tender in payment of debts'' this kept the goverment from growing to large because we had to pay not inflate currency or but the bill on credit AKA national debt

However he always had free speech the 1st Amendment: "Congressshall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or porhibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech;or of the press; or the right of the people to assemble; and to peition the Government for a redress of grievences" the problems is judges and politicians who swear to protect a document they never read or don't understand like the supreme court that just upheld Obamacare. The Constitution isn't perfect but if is the best thing to secure our liberties, one flaw I see with the constitution is the president should not pich the supreme court judges it should be voted in by a different body to ensure a check and balance here Obama or any other rented president can and does choose his own minions to judge he laws, that was a big flaw in the document
