I'm in the process of creating BOBs for my wife and I (for 3 days max), and I was wondering if someone here might be able to offer up some suggestions as to what kinds of food items we could include in our bags that don't require any heat / cooking.

The only things I've been able to think of so far are as follows:

1) packets of seasoned tunafish
2) beef jerky / turkey jerky
3) energy bars
4) yogurt raisins / trail mix

Does anyone here have any other suggestions? I'm planning to consume / rotate the food items every couple of months or so -- so I'd also be interested to know what the typical shelf lives of the suggested food items are.

Thanks!

Fruit leather
Spam or Vienna sausages (weight of item is factor)
Sesame snaps, they are these sesame seed bars that have honey in them
Squeeze packets of peanut or almond butter

Hard salami
Dried cherries (yum!)
Slim Jims (last practically forever, I think)
Peanut butter -- chunky is my favorite; oh, and peanut M&Ms
Packages of peanuts, cashews, almonds, cheese or peanut butter crackers
Dried fruit - apricots, dates, raisins, banana chips
Personal favorite - individual packets of Oreo cookies (Dollar Stores sell them)
