I'm curious about this place, anyone here lives in St.George? I have a long list of hiking/camping places I'm traveling to and I'm about to do Algonquin again in 3 weeks but this place seems really different from my usual solo Winter adventures.
Would love to know more from someone who lives there, I might even buy you a couple of drinks! :vs_laugh:

Escape to St. George, Utah, for a weekend filled with great hiking, awesome views

Don't live there but have been there a lot and surrounding area. There is so much to do in all directions!
Zion and Bryce parks are close, the grand canyon is not too far to the south. You can snow ski at Brian head.
About an hour drive east is Pink Coral sand dunes park, Kanab UT and a wonderful animal sanctuary just north of Kanab
called "Best Friends" I'm just scratching the surface here a little! I love that area and so much to do!

Added best friends link. The area the sanctuary is on and surrounding are is gorgeous. Angel Canyon is a special place and I have
done some hiking there!

@SDF880 Amazing, thank you!! I think I'll find a free week to explore this place rather than just a weekend. I've never been to Utah, time to change this.

I like Utah, but if you invite a Mormon out for drinks, make sure you invite 2 Mormons and not 1. If you invite 1 Mormon he will drink on your tab all night...invite 2 and they will keep each other in check and act like either one drinks! :vs_lol:

TG Southern 1/3rd of Utah offers so much you will not be disappointed! I hit a few of the highlights above but there is so much more! Hope
you go there I know you'll like it !

I usually fly into Vegas and head up that way it is about an hour and a half drive Vegas to St George. I have flown into Salt Lake City and drive from there
south is around 3 1/2 4 hours depending on where you going . I always like the drive from Vegas and you head NE on I-15 and for the first hour it's mainly
all desert not much to see just sand and some far off mountains. Once you pass Mesquite NV things start to get a little more scenic but as you approach St George
you'll go around a bend on 1-15 and all of the sudden St George comes into view and it is like entering another world at that point, just beautiful!

Been through there a time or two It looks like a desert similar to Big Bend in Texas but it has big rocks.
