Yep. Also have a hydrant wrench out in the garage somewhere. (I should find it and put it in the truck)

I had to look up what they are, so I guess I don't have one.

Btw, it's sillcock, apparently.

Thanks for the heads-up. I've got to go to Lowe's anyways, I'll get one.

I keep the water meter key and a big crescent wrench for the gas meter on hooks by the back door of the garage. ...the crescent wrench will shut off the water main also but I'm not reaching down in a valve box full of black widows if I don't have to.

Everyone in the house knows where the water and gas valves are and how to shut them off. Also where the circuit breakers, solar and air conditioner disconnects are and what to do with them.

It's good to know where all that stuff is on your neighbor's house is also.

Thanks! Brilliant little stocking stuffer for 7 or 8 bucks.

That price sounds too low, like a Chinese knock off, get the heavy duty ones so you have the peace of mind that the shaft doesn't break under the torque/pressure.

least for NY prices.

I will look into it, Spenser.

Mine is wrapped in aluminum foil and sealed in a vac bag and wrapped in foil again and buried next to the gas meter.

So where do you keep the shovel? Wrapped in foil and vac-sealed, buried next to the wrench?
