Some of those look pretty appetizing to me! I would love to rough it for a year or so.

Check out what you can do with some2 X 4's and metal connectors called starplates at http://www.strombergschickens.com/starp ... ing_system.
I purchases some of these 15 years ago and made a quick greenhouse. A great windy storm came up and blew it up to the house and broke several struts so I put it away. I ordered another set last month and started a playhouse for my 7 year old daughter. I might get another one and rebuild that greenhouse but add some anchors this time. Here is a web site that explains how to build a cabin with them. http://www.theweebsite.com/ecocabin/

Thoses....... are.... awesome! For about 100 bucks for the kit you can get all the framing in. On the cabin page, he has photos of it when it was done. I guess your talking about not putting on the sides and roof and just putting up plastic sheeting around the sides roof for the greenhouse? I know lowes sells the framing materials for regular framing, but I'm wondering if they have these now. I'll check.

I'm looking for something like that too. Problem I see with that one is lack of cover and there are several other houses visible from it. That's 4-5 reasons not to buy. There's also a kind of big lack of thick woods around there, I dunno what the hunting is like but I bet money there won't be much wild foraging to be had by the cabin. The cabin is adorable though.

Here is my secondary retreat on my land. Its primitive right now, has septic, shower, upstairs, sink, fireplace. Needs some more fixing up though.

A place in Middlesboro Kentucky overlooking TN/Virginia/Kentucky tri-lines, all in one view. Would love to live here. Cumberland Gap.
