For those using the little 1# er's for your emergency heaters. That can get pricey. Propane is heavier than air, so if you put a 20# tank on your picnic table, and a 1# er on the ground, and connect a hose. The propane will fill the little tank. The little one's have an OPD valve in them , so don't worry about over filling. I think.
The hose and fittings can be found in scrap parts or bought new at the local hardware.
20# tanks can be filled from the big "PIG" propane tanks also, but I'm leaving my PIG alone.
