I wanted to see what others would do with any extra window panes, jabs, screens, and doors. I was able to help a friend tear down a house this last weekend and he had all these left overs.

I was thinking of using the door jabs as raised garden beds and the screens for drying beans on this year. I have something similar, but these are larger in size.

I have seen people use windows to cover raised beds. It gives a hothouse effect. Especially for people with short growing seasons.
Depending on the doors, if they are solid or hollow, could be used to make nice deep shelves.
The screen doors would be perfect for drying.

I built two cold frames with old windows this winter and had fresh spinach for salads One was three pane windows that I re-caulked before building the cold frame, the other was aluminum storm windows I took down from my house when I put in replacement windows. I also used 8 old windows to make a chicken house. Windows are one thing I cannot throw away. I will make my neighbor a cold frame this spring because I have so many windows.

I've seen on freecabinporn.com people collect enough window frames with panes in them and create a greenhouse! It seems like a good idea!
