"Pro-gun activists in Colorado have turned in twice the number of signatures necessary to trigger a recall vote for Democratic state Senate President John Morse. According to the Associated Press, Morse has angered the gun rights community by advocating some of the strictest gun laws in the country..."

Speaking of the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School and the Aurora shooting, Morse said, “We had 20 6-year-olds shot in the face, and we have the other side arguing we should do nothing, and I’m sorry, that doesn’t cut it.” DIRECT QOUTE FROM ARTICLE.
Awesome that the people of Colorado started this, unclear thou, is what happens now? This petition starts a vote where he is terminated? Sorry, I dont know the rules. And, How MANY SIGNATURES TO OPEN AN IMPEACHMENT COUNT ON POTUS?

Basically, yes, once they verify the signatures, the the question will be put on a ballot and the people of Colorado will vote on his recall. Since this was started by a people's petition, I think it would be called an initiative, if it were started by the legislature, it would be a referendum.

Recall is a political device, impeachment is a legal process. As far as I remember, there is no matching federal mechanism: this is a state thing.

A recall in CO would be a wonderful victory on more than one front . . .
1. It would tell, on no uncertain terms, that "We the People" want the politicians to leave our guns alone. Guns don't kill people, people kill people.
2. It would go a long way in notifying all politicians that "We the People" run the show and the hired help must follow our guidance.

I think that all states need to recall an elected official now and then just to maintain control over the idiots we elect.
