Did not know where to post this, so I put it here in general.

I generate tons of aluminum cans (Beer!) and was thinking I could put these to good use instead of recycling them like I always do I could embed them into the walls of a shed that I have planned on building just to see if it would heat up. Just a thought, but was thinking of uses for them other than crushing them and recycling them.

We have been thinking of doing that. There are some simple designs on youtube for aluminum can solar heat.

I tried that about 30 years ago and I couldn't get the darn things to stick together very well. Then my state enacted a deposit law and there went all the free raw materials. If I was going to do it today, i would use my stove pipe crimper to crimp one end of the can, then assemble the cans like stove pipe with two screws in each one which should make a stronger section of pipe for a heat collector. I am talking about a hot air system, not hot water.
