I have several quickclot and celox packets in my kits, but i have heard that there are viable farm use hemostatic agents that are a lot cheaper and sterile too. Anyone?

Yes I cant remember the name but it is in the med section at the local farm and feed. They have IV's and saline too but the hook up is alot different and you have to adapt the needle size.

When it comes to such a serious subject like stopping massive bleeding, I would pay the extra and rely on something like Quikclot or celox that has a proven record. If you are camping and your daughter or son got a bad cut and you couldn't stop the bleeding I don't think you would care about how much you saved on some unknown product, you would want something that is known to work and is in use by the army and police. Also products like Quikclot is constantly being upgraded to give you the best possible protection.

The Quikclot for animals is the same quality.

Some people value their horse
more than they value humans.....

Those people would never tolerate any less quality.

Exactly. The horse stuff is larger and cheaper. I guess I'm going to have to head on over to a feed store.
