New guy from Oregon (Bug In). Got a permanent Bug Out ready to go. Nice to be among like minded people. Personally Im not a Doomsayer but believe in preparedness. I live in a disaster free zone and think it has led to complacency. My goal is to be sure that I am better prepared and that my child learns how to be prepared. Like passing down life skills.

Nice to meet you. I hail from Alabama. I am a dooms-dayer, big time. Might have something to do with my marriages, though. :-D

Welcome!
Welcome to the forum, I from the salem area myself.
Welcome to the forum. You'll love it here. We're moving to Oregon in the summer. Mountains or desert?
Welcome from Texas. Great to have you here. Great area you hail from, I was up in the Sea-Tac area for a while courtesy of Uncle Sam. Not everyone here is a doomsdayer, some of us just dont wanna get caught with their pants down if there is a bump in the road or be in a position where you have to depend on others more than neccessary. Its a great community here, with great ideas and awsome minds, there is sure to be a little something good for everyone here. Hope you find your time here, time well spent. Hope to see you around and see you often!
Another welcome from Texas. I don't really want to get caught with my pants down either. I would prefer not to give people something to laugh at.

Welcome aboard. You're obviously you seem to be on the right track. Keep it up! I too prepare with the following philosophy: "Hope for the best, however, prepare for the worst!". I am one of those who are trying to leave a legacy for my children's children. Some of the greatest knowledge has been passed down from generation to generation.

Take care and be well my friend!

Desert or Mountains
...Gonna have to go with Rain. But yeah I live subrural. On the edge of the city. It would actually be called The Willamette Valley . I hold the high ground.
Man I wish I was a young whipper snapper again, but I'm not. If I were (like 16 or 18) I would find myself a very good mentor whom I admire and respect, who is successful and has achieved some of finer things in life in various aspects and I would grab hold to him/her and learn as much as I can for as long as I can. If I would have done this I would be light years ahead of my many achievements. I plan on retiring 12 years ahead of my peers, but if I would have done what I just wrote here I would be so far ahead of the game it would be mind boggling. How many of you are making written concrete plans for the 2013 and beyond?
Check out the new and only Salem prepper group on the meetup.com site. Go to meetup.com. Then select "Find a meetup group." Select Salem, OR. Then type SAPR, which stands for Salem-Area Prepparedness Group. Good luck and be well!

Hey from North Carolina... Teach your children well... thats what good daddy's do....The bad daddy's let their kids think the world owes them shit. Or that they are so special nothing bad will happen to them. The good dad's teach daughters to break arms and balls.
