Hello, I'm a 24 year old male from Connecticut. I just recently got into prepping not only as a hobby, but hopefully a new way of life. I'm completely new to this and I'm excited to see how far I can get in terms of prepping and surviving. I always thought the ability of relying on oneself and being confident in doing so, was awesome. Im looking for that feeling of confidence and security knowing that I can take care of myself and my family without the help of others. Unfortunately I still live with my parents because my girlfriend and I are saving for a house of our own, so prepping and stocking supplies in my parents basement would be a little difficult.
I found this website lastnight while googling for prepper forums, and I'm glad I did! This site looks like it has lots of helpful information! I'm excited in getting to know all of you!

I would consider buying a place OUTSIDE CT
Thinking about it, with all these gun bans and everything in effect, there isnt much means of self defense. It's also very crowded in some places. Oh and VERY EXPENSIVE to live here. My girlfriend has a very good job here with a reputable real estate/insurance/mortage company and Im not sure if she could relocate to another building. My job is 5 minutes away and I dont think they can relocate me to a different state. My goal is to form an online business or something where I can move wherever I want and still get paid, until a SHTF scenario when the internet/electricity grid is down lol. Complicated haha

Why are you and Ruger staying in Connecticut? Connecticut and prepping are mutually exclusive states of mind.
