Need 308 Ammo Recommendations

Alrighty, time has come to feed my 308. Got everything sorted for it that I'm going to do right now, except I need good ammo to stockpile.
I'm looking for a 308 round, no lower than 168gr in weight that'll keep 1 MOA & expand & dump energy reliably enough to take deer.
Please go ahead & keep scrolling if your advice is get a different caliber/AR15. I have others, that's not this thread.

I've got my eye on Hornady's 168gr BLACK ammo & Federal 168gr TRU, which i plan to see which my rifle prefers.

I'd go the easy route & do Sierra matchking HPBT but they don't expand enough for what I plan for.

What say you, interwebs?
Rifle shown below. 18 inch barrel with 1:10 twist rate.

Personally, I go with Hornady 168g BTHP Match grade, no 38097, UPC 90255 38097. But that's just me. It works in my Scout very well, giving me 50¢-sized groups at 100 yards consistently.

Every boomstick is different, so YMMV.
I run Hornady SST 150's for 308, bolt and AR. Is awesome on deer. It's a custom load I worked up that is very accurate in most rifles I've tried them in. Use the same load but with Hornady 150gr FMJ with same accuracy. Nice to have different bullets for whatever reason with same accuracy. No messing with POA.

If you reload you can make whatever you want. I see Hornady makes a 165gr SST.

Good stuff. G1 Ballistic Coefficient 0.53.
If you reload and want a good bullet design the 168 grain Nosler ballistic tip Spitzer BT is a good choice, I'm using it in a .300 Win Mag and accuracy is on par with Sierra HPBT. Store bought ammo looks like you've picked two good ones. Sorry I couldn't give you better info, btw nice AR and give us an update on what you found that worked for you.

Good choice, I love the Nosler Ballistic tips. If reloading is an option, I would also suggest 180 gr Accubond from Nosler. These expand to perfect mushrooms and are very accurate. I loaded a batch of these for a buddy who took a very nice black bear and the wound cavity was very impressive. However, I wouldn't go this heavy unless your twist rate is 1:10.

There is a lot of great bullets in that weight in several loadings from different manufactures. Before I invested in a particular load I would try a box or two of several different loads and find out which one my rifle likes the most. Guns are much like people in that they arent all the same or think the same. What works for me in my guns may not be the "cats meow" in your gun. I reload, so I have infinite options in .30 cal bullets, charge weights, bullet seating depths and shoot a wide range of bullets that perform well in one or more of my .308 chambered rifles and I own about 4 different rifles ranging from Bolt Action to Auto Loaders.

I use the 155gr BTHP and I get sub MOA in my bolt gun. My M1A and FAL eat 147-150 gr and seem to be go to go at 300 +
My Mossberg loves the Hornady American Whitetail 150 grains, I don't know what " deer " you're going after, but your 168 grain requirement sounds like you feel as though anything lesser would be inadequate. I've killed 6 northern whitetail with the aforementioned 308 one was 220 gutted and if it's a shoulder shot it puts that full expanded bullet just under the hide on the other side. But for you, you should look into Swift Sciroccos, 180 grain I've had good luck with them.
