Ok so as I plan my 'proper' BOB I have found myself looking at Primus and MSR multi-fuel stoves as I figure that the most likely SHTF scenario is an EMP one that will strand lots of cars all over the place it should be easy to scavenge up fuel.

Now with this in mind has anyone used any of these stoves?

What different fuels have you run them on?

Did you encounter any parts that are prone to failure?

How easy was it to use with BL**DY cold hands or in gloves?

And finally what is your overall impression of this sort of stove?

I buy a bunch of coleman products, the ones that are grey colored gas tanks will run on unleaded fuel.

i say that gas will be easier to find that little propane tanks if stuff goes south. you can siphon gas from lawnmowers/cars/ im sure theres a way to pump gas from gas station storage tanks.

Thing is I have a typical folding gas can camping stove that screws onto the top of those disposable cans BUT here in the UK the cans are considered legally hazardous so you have to hunt for places that carry any stock.

On the other hand getting gas out of an abandoned car is not hard to do.
