As Training For War With China
Practice makes perfect.....

The 31st U.S. Marine Expeditionary Unit (31st MEU) seized a tiny island and airfield with special operations airmen and soldiers as part of a new island-hopping strategy.

Last week, 31st MEU, backed by the 3rd Marine Division, 3rd Marine Logistics Group and 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, members of the Air Force 353rd Special Operations Group, and Army soldiers with 1st Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group, conducted a series of simulated military exercises attacking and seizing Ie Shima Island located off the northwest coast of Okinawa Island in the East China Sea, reported Task Purpose.

The new military strategy, known as Expeditionary Advanced Base (EAB) Operations, will allow Marine units to seize, establish, and operate multiple small bases across the Pacific Ocean, a tactic that will be beneficial in a high-end fight with China.

A war with China is inevitble, it may be 20 years away or 50 years away, but it will come. And, there is no reason to think that America will win it, it may lose; China is building away with its Navy, and we are not.
So, I hope that all of the faith that America puts into high tech, can make the difference. Because our forces have been chopped into pieces; and we are probably at 2/3 of what we need, maybe 1/2.

I don't think it's as long as 20 and certainly not 50. Within the next 10 years, and I am betting within 5. They aren't building assets in the pacific so they can fish. There not ready yet, but that doesn't mean they won't if provoked or see a weakness. How many of our enemies would align themselves with China if it goes hot, and they see opportunity?

My father who spent his youth in the Solomon Islands always said the orientals have no problem sending wave after wave of men at you figuring you will run out of ammo before they run out of men. China has well over a Billion people and we have 350 million. A couple of emps from nukes and how much technology is going to work?

Communists look at each life as a problem to feed, cloth and house. Loosing 85 percent of the population is no worry to them and their ability to prevail.

Camel is absolutely correct. My theory is that the Chicoms will send millions of young males over as refugees and our stupid ass government will feed, clothe and house them. The chicom young males will gladly go to work in the Agriculture Industry and slowly take it over. Then the chicoms will send another 10, 20 ,30 million over and repeat as much as we will allow them to...eventually they will take the US over unless we stop them.

Why would china attack the U.S.?? Just to there north is the soft under belly of Russia..No oceans to cross shorter supply/reinforcement lines...And there is not a gun behind every blade of grass...
The US is the bread basket of the world as well as has the most productive oil producing regions. You think the chicoms will give a shit about what the EPA thinks? They will farm and drill to their hearts desire...it may take 2 generations but it might happen.

They need this dirt. The Chinese can't grow enough food for their mass. So, they need ours to feed them. If they kill us all? So the better. They won't have to feed us.

China has the manpower and army power, . . . with more than 8 times the population as Russia.

China can barge in, . . . take a section, . . . and hold it for 10 years, . . . barge out, . . . take another section, . . . hold it, . . . and on, and on, and on.

Russia would expend everything it owns trying to stop the Chicoms if the ****** decided to do it.

And like was said earlier, . . . no ocean's to cross, . . . an no gun behind every blade of grass.

I really don't think we have as much to fear from the Chicoms as does Russia.

May God bless,
Dwight

And yet, every time over the last 1,000+ years that China has tried that with their relatively tiny neighbor to the south, Vietnam, they have lost.
We never would have beaten North Vietnam either.

China has so much tied up in the US dollar that they will never attack us outright.
They will just take us over from within.
Unless the muslims beat them to it.

I rarely disagree with you RPD but I don't think it will make a difference. Inter connectivity, trade agreements, investments, etc. didn't prevent WWII. China want's to be the top dog. Xi Jinping has as much as stated this is as the goal. I see chess pieces being moved around the board by both China and Russia.

I do agree Xi will have to move fast before the muslims or the socialist take us down from within. One thing is certain, it appears there is a race to see who can take America down.

I don't think there are enough enemies that have the assets and are capable of invading the U.S., let alone win. Can China and/or Russia beat us on their home turf? Probably, but not on ours. Plus, we have plenty of allies that won't have a choice but to join our forces because they know that China being THE world power is bad for business.

The key phrase here is "China being the world power is bad forbusiness". I think you are missing the point entirely. The people that make the rules don't care one iota about what is either good or bad for "the people". They only care about what is good for themselves. Today in Germany, they are building the natural gas pipeline to Russia that will put their entire economy at Russia's mercy. Not because it benefits the German people. But because it enriches an elite few.

We see the same here at home. Politicians don't do what helps the people. They rule by what gives the top few more power and wealth. The same is everywhere. China simply has to offer a few of the top politicians and super-rich a juicy deal and we will all be sold down the river without a backwards glance.

Isolation by have an ocean on both sides will no longer serve as much protection for the USA. Liberal Socialism has corrupted our northern neighbors and just plain old corruption has seized Mexico. Plently of European countries no longer side with us. I can see situations where we would face hostile navy's on both oceans and hostile nations on both north and southern borders. Seems like a no-win situation to me.

Exactly! Our enemies don’t need to invade our mainland. Engage our navy and give us a severe bloody nose. Sink a few carrier battle groups. Maybe attack and overrun our forces in Europe and South Korea. Unleash hordes of immigrants across both our northern and southern borders to cause complete chaos and keep our military and law enforcement overwhelmed. Cyber attacks where necessary. Have a few sympathetic “leftists” in Washington (together with their leftist MSM) start screaming for a change of leadership, and presto-chango! Our enemies have subdued America without ever stepping foot on our soil.

Sinking carrier battle groups is not impossible. We have no defence against swarms of hypersonic missles and China is concentrating on these weapons. Our navy is old, tired, and poorly trained. 8 years under Obama hurt our readiness and weapons development. Our military can only be as great as our politicians allow it to be and they have been starving it for years and ruining it with “politically correct” bullshit. Hell, it has been reported that half our airplanes can’t fly for lack of maintenance and parts.

You are correct that there are no great northern hoards at the present time. But The government up there is decidedly left and pro immigration. They have lots of immigrants already and plenty more on the way. Do the research. Canada has plenty of immigration problems already. Push 10,000 across the northern boarder and simultaneously 3 or 4 times that across the southern boarder and you would have big problems here. Add in some terrorists into the mix, cyber attacks, grid down, and naval warfare all at the same time. This is not such a far fetched scenario.

I’m glad you think that America can’t be taken down this way. I hope you are correct. But I see things differently.

Not sure what you do for a living but I am in the military, and have been for a couple of decades. I can tell you from personal experience that we are not as an easy target as some of these are make us out to be. I agree that it is not impossible nor do I think we are invincible but I do know that we are no slouch or anything to take with a grain a salt. Our forces were depleted during the Obama years but we were also at a high when it started. Yes our aircraft have issues due to lack of funds and some less than stellar engineering/quality control, but thanks to President Trump we are getting funds that are needed and our readiness is getting better. We havent stopped fighting wars or deploying because of it either. We also haven't stopped building new ships or overhauling older Navy ships, it only slowed down due to funding. As far as the Navy not being trained, I'm not a sailor but even I take offense to that. Yes, they had some crashes due to overworked, undertrained crews but most of it was bad leadership. Training is continues and it never stops. I also agree that politics puts a strain on our military with their political bullshit but that has been happening for a long time and we are still adapting and overcoming. It is just the latest challenge of day and we will continue to be successful. Cyber warfare is where I think we dropped our guard some but I think we are headed in the right direction now.

This is good. It seems to me that this skill might have been lost over the last number of wars/conflicts/decades.
Your not always going to be able to send in some paratroopers and a few sniper teams and take over an airfield in an afternoon or just drive a few regiment's in the back door from a neighboring allie.

What I haven't seen in this thread is that we have been at war for what 17 years now. Our troops are not just well trained but very well experienced, and after this many consecutive years our Generals have the practical experience needed. Many if not most of our Captains, Lieutenants, Majors, Colonels, etc. have worked their way up the ranks on the field of battle.
Training and war games are all well and good, but it's the battle field that shakes all the rest of the bugs out.
