Simply, I thought it would be interesting, useful and fun to write a thread where people can post what they have done this month to prepare for TEOTWAWKI. It could be something small, or something large.

Hopefully we can all learn something we were forgetting and pick up some extra tips. :)

So, here's what I've done this month:

  • Sleeping bags
  • Teddies for kids
  • Come up a few potential bases to migrate to if possible
  • Watching programs about preppers to come up with ideas

Okay. You?

they make a meat curing rub then keep it at a certain temp for 7 days then wash off excess then smoke it then store it they sell curing solution on the web going to try
to get at least 200-300 lbs done by the end of the year
Nice! How long does cured meat last?

Is it possible to make one yourself easily or is it a lot of hassle and so on?

Would it be better to cure meat, dry, or freeze dry it for long-term, or do they each have different advantages and disadvantages? Or are they the same and I'm being dumb? :D

Cut up some firewood this month, took me the entire month to get a few trees, but now its time for them to cure for winter season.
Okay, first it was curing meat, now wood? *head explodes*
What does curing wood do? (I'm gathering it's to stop it rotting?) And how do you do that? :D
