I have somewhere rubbing compound and one of those oscillating car buffers. THe white part of the paint on my FJ has grown some oxidation on it and I want to polish it up but am afraid of overdoing it. Anyone know how to buff oxidation off my roof?

I would not start with Rubbing Compound until you get the handle of using the buffer. Pick up some liquid Polishing Compound and start there.

Here ya go.

For such a small area you don't need a buffer. Mcguires makes a really great polish/wax. They sell it in three stages, Cleaner, Buffing compound & wax. It works!

Thanks guys, both those are awesome ideas. The paint across the roof of the FJ just looks a tad dull and Atlanta is bad for acid rain.

Meguiars makes a professional cleaner wax that works good my hand, orbital buffer or rubbing wheel. The wheel is the most intense

This is what I used on my white Dodge Ram Van 1990, by hand and with the orbital buffer. I was scared to use "The Wheel" after not using one for a couple years .lol
