My wife and I have been throwing the idea of starting some honey bees on our property. I understand that one will need the boxes, the handling attire, etc. I suppose my question is must that should I be located to a certain type of flower, crop or fruit source for pollination and honey flavor? Or will the bees find their own sources? I don't mean to seem ignorant but the only exposure to honey bee keeping of any sort was when my uncle had them when I was maybe 5? Thanks in advance everyone.

Lot's of books out there about bee keeping. I have several for when we finally get to move. A lot of good you tube videos too. Your local agriculture extension folks should be helpful. Look to see if there is a bee keeper near you - most are more than happy to help a newbie.
