I definitely want to start making this item rather than purchasing at the store. I'd like to avoid all the low quality oils and additives in store bought.

Up until now I've never made mayo because of the CDC's caution about salmonella. Are raw eggs really unsafe, or have they "authorities" just been paid off to say so? Aren't pasteurized eggs safe?

Then I had a thought....I know Knox can be used as an egg substitute in many recipes...What about mayonnaise? I'm sure it wouldn't taste as good.

Does anyone here make their own mayonnaise? If so, would you share the recipe? Thanks!
Dont eat enough of the stuff to mess with making my own but it sounds like a good plan. I've been busy making my own Irish Cream and its mighty tasty and much cheaper than Baileys..St Brendens..Carol Anns etc. I will share the recipe for only five bucks.

I kindly request a sample of said homemade version of Bailey's Irish cream prior to purchasing recipe rights.

I have been making my own style of Spiced Rum this winter. I bought the largest size bottle of Bacardi Rum and put into empty tea bags cinnamon, star anise, cloves, vanilla bean, and sugar. After a couple of days I use a modified BBQ skewer that I used a pliers to create a hook on one end so that I could 'hook & fish out" the tea bags filled with the spices.

Gave a swig to my alcoholic neighbor, and got the Two thumbs up response.
