We live near Washington, DC and lately have been thinking about shtf, and have started putting together some supplies. We have purchased some dehydrated food and water storage items for a ''stay in place" scenario, and are working on BOBs now. One problem that we need to address is our 20# cat that cannot be left behind! I guess I will need to get a wagon to carry him along.
Looks like a lot of good information here, and we'll be looking at what others have done.

Wrteetz, I'm near DC too. Decide to prep a little since 9/11 and the quake last year. I was lucky and didn't get caught in the city either time but may not be so lucky next time. Starting on a home BOB now. Need to get a work BOB soon.

Welcome from South FL Wrteetz. We have a cat, less than 12lbs. We have cat food in our BOB. If we have to travel on foot, she will be in the cat carrier. She can stretch out in the tent once we make camp. I might get a wagon if she was 20lbs.
