Quick hello to everyone here from the Pocono Mountains. My name is Dan.
After recent events and the popularity of certain programs on tv people started calling me a prepper. Lost power for quite some time after Hurricane Sandy, yet it had no effect on my family due to a full pantry and storage of water, my woodstove (for heating & cooking), multiple grills (propane and coal), and a vast collection of batteries, candles, oil lamps, etc. I think like most of us, I'm not preparing for "doomsday". Just care enough about my family not to be caught off-guard. Plus living this way helps save on energy bills! ;)

There are many more reasons to stay prepared

Howdy from Texas,

We share a similar philosophy. We prep for a sustainable future (our livelihood :-D). We've been prepping for a better future for over 12 years and for us each day does look brighter.

It's been our experience to learn and benefit from others who have come before us. It is our secret recipe for avoiding the mistakes and pitfall of others. Learn, practice and horn your skills. I hope to see many post from you so that we can benefit from you as well.

Hope for the best and prep for the worst! This requires making plans and re-evaluating those plans (from time to time). Now is a better time to start than any.

Warmest regards,
Troy B
