I am a "microprepper". By that I mean, i am not building a bunker or a buggout vehicle, etc but I am a single individual building a survival lifestyle with minimum resources. This is a creative challenge that is a lot of fun. I am a 60-yr-old woman living on a Gulf Coast beach (in a cottage, not really "on" the beach itself! *LOL*) . I believe that the biggest danger is the social break-down that can accompany any kind of natural, industrial, or political disaster that upsets the system for more than a week or so, and so it is most important to be able to hunker down in-place for at least a month while learning the extent & nature of the breakdown.
This is a lot of fun because it means learning not only exactly what is needed in the home if you actually cannot get to a store and face an indefinite shortage, but learning how to use local wild foods and developing personal strength & stamina.
What do y'all think of this? Any other micropreppers out there?
I can share cactus recipes
