I've been a lurker on prepping websites and researching things since I was about 12. I was 11 when 9/11 happened and I think seeing that event really made me realize that anything can happen in the world without warning and that we weren't really prepared for anything in my family. My prepping got thwarted by my dad several times who didn't understand why I wanted to clean and save 2 liter bottles and spending my money on cases of water. I live by the mottos "it's better to have it and not need it, than need it an not have it" as well as "work smart, not hard"
I have really been ramping up my prepping since about a year before the pandemic, and it's kicking up higher now seeing the goings on in China. I'm here to look for good and new ideas to make sure my family is okay. The things we struggle with is homesteading. Which is pretty big to get correct. We do not have green thumbs and are new to growing and canning. We also have some health issues that we would struggle with in a worst case scenario. Despite the challenges I want to do whatever I can for my husband and son though, so I continue on. Thanks for reading.
