Hello everyone, new from NC. I'm a forestry major and very interested in the prepping side of life. Currently am involved with a non-profit trying to move out to Oregon to build a eco-village. I was actually referred by my friend Brent but I'm excited to be on here, I'm sure I'll learn and get tons from this site.

You'll love the site man. They know me as MountainMan not Brent.

Mr.PineTree has tons of forestry knowledge. Those of you who use your own trees for firewood and other necessities should definitely pick his brain. Resource management is important.

Welcome MPT... interesting major... I'd love to study it just for fun but It's not high on my "get a job where I will have extra funds to prep with" type of education. I imagine to study this that you are very nature centered and are less interested in the high priced life we all seem to be living. Well... for now anyway. I expect to have less and less each year as the new Obama taxes take it all away. You may see a scraggly Coloradan hanging around the outskirts of your eco-village begging for food scraps in a few years. :)

Howdy Pine Tree,

Welcome aboard dude. How that you will fit in and find what you're looking for. There's a pretty good bunch of people here. Get a cup a coffee, tea or whatever is your favorite beverage and read away.
