I used to do this when i was a teenager. Haven't went in a very long time. We would go to the spillway with our gigs and actually gig carp instead of frogs. The carp were so big that it broke the poles. Frog gigs is something sorta hard to find in my area, but overlooked with preps.

I grew up around all sorts of frogs, young in Louisiana and then a little older in Tennessee with my step cousins then later in GA, NC and FL. I love frog, the taste is too nice to not go for them as a food item. My cousin Al used to use a rubber strap down and hook it around his elbow under stress and hold that like a spear, and just let go with it pointed at a frog it would get them every time. I used to pop them with a bb gun, and we also had a dog that would catch them.

HAHA! BB gun! I did the same! Tied one of those bright red rayovac (whatever they were) flashlights around the gun and shoot away at night time. That was your tactical gun in the day! ::redsnipe::
