Have Current Events Changed Your Weapons Carry Principles?

For example, I am contemplating changing one of my long held tenants regarding Firearm Weapons Carry.

In the past, I would surrender my carry weapon to my wife or leave it secured in my vehicle if we were out to eat and I planned to have even one alcoholic beverage.

But lately, I am thinking that this might not be prudent, should a need arise to defend me or mine.

What say you?

I would delete that rule of thumb from the book. Drink all you want and keep the gun handy. Thats how I was taught. Must be the right way to do it by cracky.lol The one in the pocket beats the one out in the pickup. Some of these nice folks prob make other folks mad when they drink too much and they really need to pack a gun to mitigate the physical violence perhaps?

Thanks @bigwheel

I'm pretty blessed to be a happy go lucky drunk! Most folk seem to chuckle at me mostly!!

The only person I seem to piss off when tanked up is Mrs Slippy. And I believe she is impervious to bullets and nuclear weapons...:plain:
Sounds like my house. Everybody thinks I'm witty after a few beers and shooters...except the Warden. What a party pooper lol.

Back on a more serious note..anytime I leave the house I been lugging my Sig .40 in my biker vest with the big secret pockets like the president of the hells angels wears. There is room in there for anything. I canry two spare mags...an asp and anything else that can fit. Doing the IWB in warm weather. Couldnt live without my vest. Looks like yall cant have one cause they sold out

I carry everywhere I go just like I always have. Unless it's a courthouse or school I'm carrying. The signs that say "No Firearms" are not legally binding unless they're in Federally funded buildings or schools.

I do keep a 10/22 Takedown in my truck but I have to keep it in a locked case due to the laws in my state.

The only difference now as opposed to a year ago is I never forget to pack an extra mag when I leave the house anymore.
Sounds like good peppping to me. Sure all thoughtul toters have thought about the very good lawyers a person is going to need when they hammer down on a bad guy? I would heartily recommend the pre need plan. Not sure who has the very best these days..but thats the one I would get. I am supposedly covered by a couple of old law dog clubs I still pay the dues on. They best come when I ring. lol. I tote with what is called a retired cop card. I can supposedly pack where any other cop can in that jurisdiction. Few arguments says it aint good in schools or Noo Yawk City..but who knows. Thanks to Dubja Bush on that nice Law. Somebody says I need a state card to go with it...but I dont like to waste ammo. lol
