Winter Sewing Guide

Winter sewing is a way for us in colder climates to get a head start on the growing season and not deal with growing lights, heat lamps, hardening off, etc. You can recycle old plastic containers or make seed pots with newspaper if need be. If you go the route of using those thin seedling pots, I suggest having a large clear storage container to put them in for protection.

You do need to keep an eye on the weather forecast once seeds sprout. We do experience late frosts sometimes. What I do is keep all the containers together and throw an old flannel sheet for extra protection over all on nights we are expecting a really hard frost.
