We are in the greater Nashville area...moved here last July from Colorado for work and it was good timing as we were seeing not so great things with infrastructure shortcomings with the massive influx of people during COVID - for example schools were buckling under the weight of new families in the area and no new schools were being planned and roads were becoming a mess.

Foreseeable challenges are not that different from others here I'm sure - 5 people in my house x 2,500 calories per day = 1.15M calories for 3 months storage (space). Water source is a creek that runs nearly dry in the summer - have 1 neighbor family who we would partner with, but, the other 7 houses on my street will struggle when SHTF and we'd want to help as much as we can.

Awesome that you found us, and that your family is on board. I started out with a spouse who has normalcy bias, and felt anything I spent to prepare was wasted time/energy/money. She’s coming around, but it’s far easier now that I have some family acceptance.
