One of my greatest moments of self realization of just how truely insignificant we are a species came while standing atop Sulpher Mountain in the Canadian Rockies of Alberta. As I looked out over the Rockies and wondered at the sheer violent force Mother Nature brought forth to create such beauty, I realized that when Mother Earth tires of us she will make her own corrections, and either end this experiment in life or start over.

Just one man's opinion, of course.

The best mankind can ever expect in a battle with nature is a tie. She is always there to go again.
I realized that on a canoe trip down a local river. Even if we made the trip successfully it (the river) would always be there, ever changing, ready to test us again.
