How unpleasant it might sound, I've read different reports on drinking urine if you are faced in a survival situation. Has anyone thought of this?

I think by the time I'm ready to drink my own urine, I'll be so dehydrated I won't have any urine to drink and it'll all be over soon anyway. However, I would recommend LOTS of charcoal in a filter to get rid of the smell and/or distill it if possible. I helped my son build a water filter (pebble/sand/charcoal) for a science project. His was the only one with charcoal and the only one to remove the smell of the nasty water the science teacher provided. Again, LOTS of charcoal.

Bear grylls is a tard for giving people the idea that this MIGHT help.

1) salts in conectrated urine will draw out MORE water than you take in.

2) there are several substances in urine that are toxic to your body (ammonia, urea... etc.)

3) it will lead to a quicker and more painful death, seriously why dont you just eat snow while you are at it ...


if you MUST recover water from urine, you need a hole, a sheet of plastic, a can and a rock

dig hole, place can in center of hole, place urine in hole AROUND can, cover with plastic, place rock over can water will evaporate and condense on the plastic and follow the slope in the plastic to the rock where it will drip into the can for collection.

I guess it depends on the packaging. If it was my urine I would just use my last bullet, however, if it was Salma Hayek I might have other thoughts. :mrgreen:

I don't ever plan to put myself in a situation where that option would ever be on the table. I hope my best anyhow.
