Bought a pair today, was well worth the 75 I think. They are built almost like boots but are super super light, yet they don't feel cheap. I got mine in wide and really like the grip they have, I'll take them out fishing some rough stuff and see how they handle it. The 'omni-grip' tread is like cleats and the high tops have great ankle support.

That's scary, I was looking at the same pair today at my outdoor store, thought about getting them but didn't pull the trigger, might have to rethink that....

I love hiking shoes like that. I actually would wear them all year round if my feet didn't give out as bad. I started running triathlons/marathons a few years back and now I have severe plantar fiscitius (mispelled, but you get the idea). So any new shoes kill my feet. I would love to be able to put a pair of these on again and run through a mountain trail.

I have a pair similar to these, but off brand, even though they are off brand, they hold the trails just fine for me.
