This is planned to be built in western Idaho...in my back yard so to speak...;)

Patriotic Group To Build Armed 'Defensible' Neighborhood Fortress | CNS News

Considering large portions of the population of Idaho (LDS) already prep as a matter of faith. It's not a big deal to prep in Idaho, actually it's common...So why is this is necessary.

Anyway it's interesting and they are taking applications...:smile:

No harm in asking, and they do ask. Seems to be the sig line of a lot of sites.

I came across the article and it reminded me of Bo Gritz Almost Heaven in Kamiah Idaho...which failed miserably.

They say- "Marxists, Socialists, Liberals and Establishment Republicans will likely find that life in our community is incompatible with their existing ideology and preferred lifestyles"

I know that Marxists, Socialists and Liberals are lefty pinkos, but what are 'Establishment Republicans'?

"Establishment Republicans" are those Republicans that broker deals with said Marxists, Socialists, and Liberals instead of sticking to their values in order to remain in their political positions for as long as possible. See also the term "RINO" (Republican In Name Only).

Thanks, I know zilch about US politics..:)
One more thing, here in Britain the Party that's full of Marxist, Socialist and Liberal lefty pinko maggots is the Labour Party.
Is the equivalent American party the Democrats?

I've also heard them referred to as Progressives down here in my neck of the desert.

It's strange to say the least...I'm curious as to where it is they plan on putting it...and once I find out, giving it a wide berth...lol

This is where a couple buddies and myself will go for a little joy ride and see just how well off they think they are. See if their security is what they think it is. Our intent is not to do harm to people or equipment but to test the fortifications of their claims and preps... Or I can just let it be and watch it fail on its own.

Yeah...these types of things never seem to do well. The reason they fail has to do with common sense and common sense says there is no need for a walled off compound. Especially in an area where prepping is pretty much accepted.

I was thinking the same thing it seems a little odd to me. Hope everyone stays away from the Kool-Aid in that place.

Part of my survival stratagy is to stay as far away from the craziness as I can...
This Citadel thing seems pretty crazy to me...
It's almost like they got tired of waiting on fema and decided to build their own camp...

A 'Survivors' episode features a group who've set up camp in a deserted army camp and operate on strict rules after a plague ('The Death') has wiped out nearly everybody on earth.
In this clip their guest Charles Vaughan (with beard) debates with them from 3:10 to urge love and compassion instead of harshness.
Who's to say who's right, him or them?

As long as Citadel or any other similar survival group stay within the law I wish them every success..:)
If people join and decide they don't like it, they can always get out and go back to the world outside if they think it's a better place to live.
Pick up that Survivors clip above at 6:50 to hear a woman say some of their members who've left the camp have soon returned begging to be let back in!

The 1978 film 'POWER PLAY' (Peter O'Toole/David Hemmings) is also interesting..
SPOILER

because at the end tank commander O'Toole stages a coup and takes over the soft fictional east european country and has the sloppy weak former rulers shot.
He then proclaims himself President and goes on TV to announce harsh new measures to decisively halt corruption, crime and moral degeneracy etc, sounds alright to me..:)
Pick up his TV speech at 1:35:40-

In fact now I come to think of it, walled communities have been THE NORM for thousands of years, so Citadel's proposal is nothing new..:)
I bet if people from the past could see us now they'd think we were mad to live in completely unprotected communities!

Iron Age hill fort, England

Medieval Europe

Jamestown, Virginia

Fort Laramie

Walled city (Carcassonne)

Castle

Vietnamese fortified ville, 1960's/70's

Modern gated community (sign reads 'Gate closes after each vehicle')
