Then they'll start requiring a federal CBDC account to receive your tax refund or social security payment. Then they'll pressure banks and credit card companies to require customers to have a CBDC account.

There is some speculation that this is an alternative to CBDC, but I'm skeptical.
My expectation is that this is a poor alternative, intended to be another step toward the lie of "our systems just can't cope with modern society, and we now need CBDCs".

Fed Chair Jerome Powell and Fed Reserve Governor Michelle Bowman are skeptical that we even need CBDCs to combat the supposed issues such a coin would deal with.
They both believe this FedNow system will handle it without the need for a FedCoin.

Time will tell, but it will still take an act of congress to make cash obsolete. This FedNow system is planned to go into effect in July. If you haven't already, start making plans now.
