Now that the harvest canning season is winding down, keep a look out for canning supplies on sale. Our local small hardware store informed me that their supplies would be going on sale later this week to make room for the holiday stuff. I intend to check it out tomorrow.

I don't know how to can stuff.

I don't eat many cooked vegetables unless they are grilled or steamed, or sometimes sautéed.

Boiled veggies and me don't get along metabolically....

Check out Tattler. Home Page I bought a case of the wide-mouth and a case of the other size for Mrs Inor. She seems pretty happy with them since they are reusable.

I am curious about the tattler lids as well. They are pretty pricey compared to the disposable version and I wonder about the long term durability, anyone been using them for any length of time?

No problem with reusing the lids. Try to turn the rubber piece over each time so it doesn't get a permanent "dent" - if that makes any sense at all. Still have most of the Tattler cases since once I started reusing I didn't need to open more.

Hello
Sorry for the late notice but I found out from a different site that Tattler reusable canning is running a Friday the 13th one day sale 50% off.

Home Page

Put what you want in the cart and type in "madness" into the coupon field on checkout and get half off.

Great for canning, great for barter, reuseable canning lids!
