I was watching Man Woman Wild tonight, and Mike took a regular water bottle and boiled the swamp water in it. I didn't catch to see if it was directly over the fire or just next to the fire, but he said that if there is water in it, then it wouldn't melt. I have never thought about this and would have been sure that it would melt. Going to try this on my next outting.

I am betting that this would work as long as the bottle is not exposed to direct flames.

Yeah I have done this with milk jugs. Suspend it near the fire but do n't like too many flames contact it, it's pretty easy to do!

I am Ojibway
In years past my people used the stomach of animals to cookin
Also I Have used hide bag myself and it is a combination of not touching the flames and the swetting of water on the outside that keeps them from burning
