I would hardly call it best rifle ever. That’s actually laughable.

The best rifle ever?
US Rifle Caliber 30 M1.
Commonly called the Garand.

That is exactly the same rifle that came to mind for me when I read “best rifle ever”
I’ve had my M1 for 33 years.
