Well kind of I build the tracks they run on. Pick them up when they fall off.

I did work in the rail industry for 38 years. Retired a few years back.

My grandfather worked his whole working life at the rail yards in Oakdale Tenn. His son, my uncle, went to work in the rail yards in Chattanooga Tennessee after he served in the Korean conflict.

No, but the tracks carry a train every twenty minutes or so within view of the yard here, 'bout a mile and a half away. Can hear em coming for miles off, either direction. Sometimes Dog and I go down there and get vibrated as a train goes by. Crews are all the time working on the tracks. The Grinder going by at night with full on spot lights and sparks is a real crowd pleaser down at the Cowboy in town, just across the road from the tracks.

Not sure either Slip, and it seems Ex LLC has not answered your question here and also a very relevant question you posed to him on another thread, as he did not also answer mine on the Walmart stock loss thread. Seems he likes to post comments but not discuss or explain his position (in these cases criticism). Anyway here is my answer to his locomotive question.

No I haven't worked in the locomotive industry but, I once rode on Amtrak and then slept at a Holiday Inn Express when I got off.
