yesterday i was just thinking since everybody has made a big deal of 2012, i think it might not even happen but when the time comes for it everybody will start panicking and chaos will break out and that will be the main destroyer

I am kind of ambivalent about it. It is intriguing that the planetary alignment occurs, and is such a rare event. The transit of Venus across the sun, the alignment of the Earth with the sun and the black hole at the center of the Milky Way galaxy...and how the Mayans knew that would occur on this specific date so far into the future. It is really quite amazing.

But how much credence can you give to a vanished tribal civilization that engaged in human sacrifice rituals? Yeah, not much.
