Create fear and convince people you're they only one that can protect them.
...people will not only agree to give up their freedoms, they'll ask to give them up.
My main focus in prepping has always been to survive the sh!t storm of civil unrest that's going to happen when those in power try to enforce some ridiculous mandate like "time allotments for going out" in the name of climate change.

How is it "ironic"? Did I mention any politician or political party? Did I ever say one side rules by fear but the other side doesn't? Again, how is it ironic? You're making a wild assumption of my political mindset based on your bias of a stereotype.
There certainly is a fear of Trump in certain circles but I'd argue it's based on political fearmongering by a very biased press, EXACTLY the same way Joseph Goebbels got the German people to fear the Jews.
The only authority you had as the captain of a football team was the delegated authority of the coach. Your coach, no doubt, used fear as his base for authority. (fear of getting benched or having to run laps, etc.)
And how naive do you have to be to think that being the captain of a football team has ANYTHING to do with having real power in a polarized world with billions of dollars and millions of lives at play?
