    Pic Posting 101

For some odd reason, when I attach a photo from my computer they always appear sideways in the post. How can I remedy this? And, why is it happening, I wonder? Any info and help greatly appreciated, before I become the source for pinched nerves in people's necks lol. Thanks!

It may be due to the EXIF data attached to the image. Strip it off first before posting.
Keep calm and try setting SCE to AUX.

    Rotate your phone.

I always forget which way to hold the phone, but it is one way for pics and another way for video.

Must be an Apple thing. Android phones know they're rotated to vertical and rotate the image so it's right-side up no matter how you hold it.

I took the pics with an iPad, as the camera is as clear as my Canon Rebel XLT, sad to say.

I do not even know what EXIF data is. I right clicked on Properties and read the info, the only thing I saw was 'EXIF version 0221' and there was no way to edit that in the Properties list. That's about as far as I go into computer stuff lol.

It depends on the device used. If you load those same attachments from a PC they will load in the correct position. For some reason phones and I pad type devices load them sideways. We have the same issue at OTP I don't know of a fix other than the attachment features on forum boards suck so use a free picture host and the problem goes away. I use" Imgur"

Just searched it. Yup. It's a matter of holding the device correctly.

Didn't need to search for it. AVPS (Apple Vertical Photography Syndrome) has been around for decades.

Not sure what that is, but I've found the IPhone has the PMO feature and it comes at no additional charge. (Piss Me Off)

Holding the phone vertically (in 'portrait' orientation) even when the subject is best photographed in horizontally ('landscape' orientation).
