Im doing good on some things. I load 12ga, my Dad loads 45acp, my Brother loads 9mm. So im swimming in that stuff (we all know whats in the heavy presents at Christmas...lol) But im low, or out of stuff like 357/38/556/40/45lc/30-30. I should have taken my Dads advice about a year ago when he told me to quit buying guns, and start buying ammo for the ones you already have.

Tell her you want an 8 gauge. Why? It's 4 gauges safer than a 12!

Dad is not always right . But even when you think he is wrong it pays to hedge your bet and at least follow some of his advice.

While a place that was always well stocked and a good verity they inventory has dropped. Common ammo is now limited supply and only small boxes. Shelf is empty on much of it. Rifles are down to bolt action stuff left and shot guns are basic pumps. Hand guns limited to a few real high end stuff and a hit or miss on any give day on the normal range of guns .
Part of this may well be production and supply issue as with other things like pool parts and things you are seeing drop in numbers at the home supply type store.
Thanks for the update. Been hearing rumblings about ammo shortages. Not sure whats up at Bass Pro but heard rumors on the days Academy Sports gets ammo..the line of buyers reaches a way. Cant imagine needing more than is currently on hand at my crib but you just never know what the future might hold. As far as needing to buy guns..I got plenty lol.

My end of the world as we know it supply is good and protected. I do like to burn some up so rotation of stock is a good thing.

Today I could not afford to buy what I have, on the 8MM, I have plenty, Inherited 10 K from my brother to add to the inventory.
It is SS Patronen AP, I only have three guns in 7.92x57, FN-49,
Mod 1948 Yugo and a Maschinengewehr 34, last is for FPF if it ever comes to it.
I really don't want to think about it, the world would be upside down,
but I learned in the military what is needed for defense and how to.
I am looking forward to seeing 20 round mags for the 49 that are being brought up to me.
Not that I need it, I have plenty of semi's in 308, 30/06, 5.56. 7.62x39 and 30 carbine.
This state is starting to boil with BLM and ANTIFA stoking the flames, glad I live out in the country.

I and happy were are not restricted to need when it comes to firearms and ammo. We will be soon but it will be way to late to effect many of us. Purchasing firearms that you really don't need provide some excitement in life.

in the meantime.. you cant find anything but the very cheap crap.. .and the very $$$$$ stuff from the local shops..
ammo has flown off the shelf... and everyone is nervous...
my favorite part about this panic..
is looking at people who were poo poohing everything months ago, and talking about nutjobs and crazy preppers...
how quickly people forget when the times are good...
at least until you're desperate socking it out with some equally desperate person in Costco over toilet paper.
just hope all you fellow brothers and sisters are keeping your heads down, eyes open, mouths shut, and bums clean... with all the tp we procured!!!
be safe fellow nutjobs!!!

PLEASE...do what you need to do to protect your family. You can easily had a Maverick 88 and a case of 12 g shells so your wife never finds out. Just in case SHTF in B'ham.
Muggers/Rapists/HomeInvaders could care less that your wife is a pacifist. Raping a pacifist is just as good to them as a non pacifist. It is YOUR responsibility to protect her...and your kids (if you have them) and yourself.

About 20 years ago I had the realization that once I retired my supply of cash for "extras" such as ammo would be non existant.
So, I started spending $10 to $20 every payday, buying a box or two.
There were some splurges along the way, such as 440 round spam cans of 1954 Bulgarian military surplus 7.62X54R for $45 each. My Mosin Nagant's are set for life.
Or the USGI M2 Ball military surplus for my Garand aat $9.99 per 20 round box. My Garand is set for a long, long time.
Or, the 50 round boxes of Remington 32-20 JSP for my barn yard defender - 1921 Colt Police Positive, that were priced $15 each at an estate sale. I bought all there were.
I have enough that I moved it all out into the barn, in case there was ever a house fire. There's only a few hundred rounds of various calibers in the actual house.
I have ammo for all my firearms, 22 different calibers and gauges. Some, only a few hundred rounds, some in the thousands.
I never have to ever buy amo for the rest of my life, but I still replace what I shoot.
