    Cool Hawg's glazed nuts

    1 bag raw peanuts
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of the following.

    Cayenne
    Cumin
    Smoked paprika
    Black pepper

    2 tablespoons of kosher salt

    2 tablespoons butter
    Heavy 1/4 cup sugar
1/4 to 1/2 cup water ? Something like that anyway.

Heat that sugar butter and water on medium heat bring to boil 1 minute then pour it over the nuts and dry spices. Mix mix mix some more. Spread on a cookie sheet 350° oven 10 minutes. Stir stir stir until it all thickens up and sticks to the nuts. Back in the 350° oven for 35 minutes or so turning every 10 minutes just don't burn them.

    Trapper,

It never occurred to me that packages of raw peanuts might not be available in areas of the country?

Sorry to hijack your thread Hawg, but if y'all ain't never had some of Slippy' Boiled Peanuts well you are missing something special!

Here's the secret recipe so write it down quick and don't tell anyone.

    1 Bag of Raw Peanuts
    1/2 Cup Salt
Slippy's Blue and White Speckled Stock Pot

Dump raw peanuts in Stock Pot and add Salt. Pour enough water in to just an inch or two below the top of the pot.

Boil the hell out of the peanuts for 5 or 6 hours adding water when necessary.

Enjoy Salty Boiled Peanuts either Hot or put some in a container (liquid and all) and place in a cooler. Nothing like boiled peanuts and cold beer on a cool October afternoon watching college football.

We call those calf fries in Texas No need to fry. The Cowboys throw them on a bed of mesquite coals and when they pop open they are ready to eat with salt and pepper if you got any.
